For the past four years, Angelica “Angel” Chambers, school psychologist at Pivot North Bay, has been an integral part of the Pivot family. Her support has extended beyond academics, using her background in psychology and applied behavioral analysis to ensure Pivot students receive the resources they need to thrive.
Angel’s extensive background includes degrees in Behavioral and Social Science, Psychology, and School Psychology, along with a Pupil Personnel Services credential and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. She leverages her expertise to assess and address a wide range of student needs, from academic to social-emotional development, while collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and families to create tailored strategies that support student success.
“Pivot’s small-school environment allows us to work closely with students and families to ensure they receive the right level of support,” Angel explained. “We also offer both virtual and in-person mental health services, which gives students the flexibility to access resources in the way that works best for them.”
For Angel, the most rewarding moments come when she sees students gain confidence and families feel supported. She recalls one particular student struggling with motivation and isolation and how he overcame these obstacles.
“The student was interested in psychology and volunteering with kids, so my team and I helped him find opportunities,” says Angel. “When I agreed to meet with him to talk about my work as a psychologist, his mother started crying and said, ‘This is the first time I have seen my son smile in a long time.’”
Angel’s dedication goes beyond just providing support—she helps build confidence, foster connections, and create a positive, encouraging environment for every student. At Pivot, we’re grateful to have someone who truly makes a difference in the lives of our students and their families.
